Good evening, Amanda Here. Hoping you, as I am, are having a wonderfully blessed day.
"I am sitting here thinking about several incidents that happened at the beginning of my battle with My Little Patch of Earth.
For instance, one day I had all the gardening elements - time, energy and thrill-together, I was really enthusiastic about a flowerbed project I had in mind. So I gathered all my equipment and items for the project and set to work digging up the area. When my first shovel full of dirt started moving, I was surprised and dropped the shovel. I took a closer look and realized I had dug up a family of hibernating lizards. Oh no! I figured that digging them up disturbed them, so I decided that I should bury them again and I did. I don't know what the results of my actions were. But I do know that God is all seeing and knowing and that He took care of that lizard family.
Another incident happened when I was enthusiastically lopping away at a huge overgrown bush that was covering an entire window. About midway thru the task, a bird started dive bombing at me! I would drive it away and it came right back, making all kinds of noise. When I started the chainsaw it went away. I wasn't thinking about why it was acting that way, all I could think of was how annoying it was. As I hacked away with the chainsaw, I cut off a large branch and let it crash to the ground. It was then I saw, that on that branch was a bird's nest with four eggs inside. Pictures of an aggressive bird crashed in my head. I gently removed it and placed it in my pear tree. I kept an eye on it as I worked on that bush (on the look out for more nests) and several hours later the mother bird went to the pear tree and settled in the nest. I was relieved and started singing…"His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches over me….."
